Putting Wendler’s 5/3/1 to Work

Jim over at BeastSkills just posted highlights of his performance at a recent powerlifting event.  Reading through his notes, we couldn’t help but notice the good things he had to say (along with the results he had to back it up) regarding the Wendler 5/3/1 method.

First off, congrats to Jim on putting up huge bench and deadlift numbers for a 175-pound guy.  And secondly, thanks for validating what we already believed to be true about the effectiveness of Wendler’s 5/3/1.

Naturally, we’ll continue to recommend the 5/3/1 for people focused on getting stronger at specific lifts.

I like it. I am putting up good numbers on bench right now. I am doing it the way I have learned the best for my body. Jim must be a little shorter because his size for a six foot tall person and he is well over 200lbs.
