Indian Club Elements: The Cross

A while back we promised to start an ongoing focus on Indian club training, so grab your clubs because here we go!

Today is the first installment in a series on club movements, and we’ll begin with a classic foundational move:  the single-handed cross.

Rocannon Macgregor does a masterful job of introducing this fundamental swing, and he pays close attention to details that will really help the beginner.  For example, he goes beyond the basic movement (of the arm and shoulder) and he covers the hammer and saber grip movements (of the hand and wrist).  He then goes on to show how they’re applied in a repeating pattern throughout this movement we call the cross.

Get out there and get started swinging clubs!  Your body will thank you for it.  You’ll enjoy greater mobility and it will entertain your entire central nervous system.
