SEAL Veteran: VLC Lacto-Paleo Improves Performance

On his PaNu blog (on paleo nutrition), Dr. Kurt Harris has just shared an interesting “high performance diet” story from a Navy SEAL, who just happens to be his brother-in-law Jason.

Nearing the age of 40, Jason switched to a VLC (very low-carbohydrate) lacto-paleo diet and found that his work performance (as measured by CrossFit benchmark workouts) has improved dramatically as a result.

Robb Wolf picked up on this too and, as he mentions in his post on the story, this fits right in with hundreds of similar stories he’s captured over the last few years.

If you have hit a plateau on your performance, but you haven’t switched to a Paleo diet, consider using this upcoming New Year (and its opportunity for resolutions) as a chance to give it a shot!

Even if your performance is fine, you might also consider this type of diet if you are planning to throw on some dive gear and insert on a beachhead anytime soon…
